Newton-Meter to Foot-Pound Conversion

Many manuals give metric torque specs. This is a conversion chart.

Foot-pounds (Ft-Lbs) are in red and Newton-Meters (Nm) are in blue.

If you wanted to convert 58 Foot-Pounds to Newton-Meters, just scroll down the tens column to the left to 50 ft-Lbs, then across the singles column to 8, and see the answer is 78.6374Nm.

To covert 115 Newton-Meters to Foot-Pounds, find the closest number in blue (in this case 115.2445), and then add the two numbers in red (85).

Another method is to cover Foot-Pounds to Newton-Meters is to multiply the Foot-Pounds spec by 1.3558. Reversing the formula will give you Foot-Pounds from Newton-Meters: Divide the Newton-Meters spec by 1.3558.
