CLK55
This is a reprint from press information supplied by Mercedes-Benz:
2001 - 2002 CLK55 AMG Coupe
Baumuster 208.374
The first entry from the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class into the AMG lineup, the CLK55 AMG Coupe features the most
powerful naturally aspirated engine AMG has ever offered in the United States.
This handcrafted, 342hp 5.5-liter V8 engine takes just 4.9 seconds to go from standstill to 60 mph. Its torque
characteristics are equally impressive. The double-fluted intake system provides excellent cylinder charge
resulting in over 376 lb-ft of available torque between 3,000 and 4,300 rpm.
Equipped with TouchShift automatic transmission, the CLK55 gives drivers the choice of Formula One inspired
clutchless manual or automatic shifting. Equally responsive is the CLK55's AMG sport suspension, upgraded with
thicker front and rear stabilizer bars, performance-tuned springs and gas-charged shock absorbers.
